Chemtrails in Oakland

When I was younger, I was a huge conspiracy buff. There wasn't the internet as it is today, and most people were not inundated with the glut of information that we are now. To be a conspiracy nut meant a lot of hard leg work. It meant knowing about certain zines and under-ground books. I won't bore you with a list, but if you ask I can scrounge up one. Anyway, the point is I was once extremely concerned about what are referred to as Chemtrails. The cloud like lines in the sky I'm sure you've seen. There are those out there who believe that they are a Illuminati plot. There are those who believe that they are nothing more than the "normal" contrails left by aircraft. I stopped carring about that sort of thing when my lie on the ground became more important to me than conspiracies that I can not control. Though occasionally I look up and see them and think back on what I've read and what I see. I saw these two today-you be the judge.

Another Wednesday-Another Riot!

Last nights protest turned violent long after I left, until then it was peaceful and calm. There was almost a celebratory mood throughout. Though I was disappointed most of the self-appointed spokesmen for the community spent more time urging the crowd to remain peaceful than talking about what we were there for. There was a lot of self-aggrandizing spoken word bull crap, but at least people are getting out. And yet again it would not have made MSNBC had not been for those few who decided to mill around afterwards and smash some window. For the record the Protest was over at 7, the violence started at 8:30. So it wasn't actually apart of the organized event. My number one complaint has been that people are more concerned over the violent protest than they are that a man was bound and shot by the cops. A cop who-BTW-pleaded not guilty today. It burns me up that it take a brick through a bank window for the national media to notice. That says a great deal about our nation, that we look the other way when a man is killed but all get upset when a window is smashed. I hope the next time they burn it all down.
